We have proudly served Kansas City and the surrounding region for more than 125 years and we look forward to meeting your electric needs for many years to come. We take our role in this region’s future to heart and we have a number of programs in place that give back to our community. We are particularly proud of our youth-oriented programs. Having the combined operations of KCP&L and Aquila managed locally will allow us to continue supporting our local communities through charitable contributions and enrichment programs. EXPANDED ENVIRONMENTAL INITIATIVES
One of our top priorities at KCP&L is environmental stewardship–reducing and reversing our carbon footprint and improving air quality in the region. Through our Comprehensive Energy Plan and our agreements with the Sierra Club, we have pioneered efforts to incorporate wind power into our generation portfolio, invest in environmental improvements, implement energy efficiency programs, and invest in efficient, low-cost supply. Together, KCP&L and Aquila will not only continue to stand by these commitments, but will also look to expand upon them in the larger service area. Together, we will be able to do even more to help improve air quality in the Kansas City region while continuing to serve you.
