Latest Opinion Poll
As the Missouri Public Service Commission hearings on the proposed Aquila transaction get set to resume, we wanted to share some interesting findings from a recent public opinion survey of KCP&L and Aquila customers. This survey was conducted by a national research firm and was intended to get feedback from customers about what they think of KCP&L and Aquila as service providers and how they view a combined company.
Some of the highlights…
- 97 percent of combined customers consider their electricity service to be reliable.
- Those customers that are aware of the proposed acquisition of Aquila approve of it by a more than a two to one margin.
- Customers were particularly supportive of the significant savings that will be realized and passed on as a result of the operating efficiencies. In addition, customers looked favorably on the fact that a combined company will keep jobs in the community.
- 71 percent of customers from both companies were also very supportive of KCP&L's Comprehensive Energy Plan and specifically mentioned renewable energy as an important area of emphasis.
